Although some might call this tagging, IMHO, what you are doing is not tagging
in the sense that the term is being used today.

You are cataloging. Enhancing cataloging if you like. Very cool.

tagging by a group, a single person, or by one person for a group (what you are
doing) is a different story. Tagging, in the common sense these days would be
if you allowed every student, teacher, parent, and administrator to add subject
headings/tags to each entry in your catalog.

Btw, the Library of Congress is also doing something similar (the same from
other companies) by adding additional access points (like the table of
contents).
