Thanks to all those who responded in my search to find a copy of "The Cat in
the Hat" in German. It appears that the German Amazon.com's site has copies
listed as out of print. Another found a copy on Amazon.com United
Kingdom...but it would take 4-6 weeks for delivery (that's for UK). A friend sent
me
another site that is in the U.S. that I'm going to attempt to get a copy...and
they take purchase orders.

They also carry it in Italian (which I do not have), French, Yiddish,
Spanish, Latin and I think Icelandic too. I currently have copies of it in French,
Spanish and Latin and the Yiddish one on backorder. These I ordered from

I am hoping to find students from a nearby private school who will come to
our school and do a tandem reading with me of the various copies I can obtain.
I'll read a page in English and they will then read the same page in the other
language. I have done this with "Green Eggs & Ham" in English & Spanish and
it has always been a big hit.
