I keep a bottle next to the tissues on my desk , which is by the computers, and on the circ counter. Even though we are a high school, I do not allow students to just help themselves. I thin it has helped cut down on some passing of germs. I don't see how it could harm the books if the student uses just a little on their hands. Now, if they were squirting it allover the books, it may since most of them contain some alcohol.
