Hello! My school is going to be kicking off our "What if all of St. Monica read the same book?" program for the first time coming up in March. I was wondering if anyone out there has done such a program before and what was your success with it? What grade levels did the program include? We are a K-8 school and looking for some cross-grade participation. Also, did you include families and if so, what types of materials did you send home letting parents know about the program goals. I have the One Book, One Community CD-ROM from ALA and it has great resources for publicity, but if quite geared to doing the program in a public library environment. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I'll definitely post all the ideas I receive. Thank you in advance for your help! With a smile, Shauna Yusko Teacher-Librarian, St. Monica School 4320 87th Ave SE Mercer Island, WA 98040 (206) 232-5432 ext. 155 syusko@stmonicasea.org "I got my break, my big break, when I was 5 years old. And its taken me more than 70 years to realize it. You see, at 5 I learned to read. It's that simple...and it's that profound."---Sean Connery -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
