LM_NET Archive

Between my last blog entry and a posting to AASLForum
and LM_NET, there should be some volunteer forms that
either hit or will hit the AASL office soon. But some
people followed the link to the ALA office (as I
suggested) and let me know politely that the link goes
to a "this page is down as of 12/4." A call to the
amazing Lois Ann Gregory-Wood who is the staff person
in charge of ALA Committee appointments (and ALA
Council! Busy woman!) solved the mystery.

Unlike the AASL office which collects committee
volunteer information year around, the ALA office
collects it only during the time that the ALA
President-Elect is making appointments. Those
appointments must be approved by ALA Council at
Midwinter. So...if you indicated interest in an ALA
committee or are thinking about it (and I encourage
you to do so!), please mark your calendar now to go to
the ALA Committee Volunteer page between the first
week of August and the first week of December and send
in a volunteer form. Please?

And in case you missed the YouTube video of Midwinter
conference behavior on Stephen Abram's excellent
Lighthouse blog
<http://stephenslighthouse.sirsidynix.com/>, here it
is: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Td922l0NoDQ>

Enjoy! See if you can spot anyone you know...I found
Hilda Weisburg!
