[LM_NET] Discontinue Shelf List in automated library?

Hi, 
   
  Although we have been automated for 15 years, I am only now thinking to 
discontinue my shelf list.  We do back ups to our server and to an offsite location.
   
  Has anyone discontinued their shelf list catalog cards and regretted it?  Has 
anyone kept their shelf list catalog cards, actually needed them at some point and 
was glad they had kept them?
