AASL's Advocacy Special Committee is looking for school library advocacy
stories

<>Do you have great examples of advocacy, PR, or marketing at work in
your library media center? <>
AASL's Advocacy Committee is getting ready to update the AASL Toolkit
for School Library Media Programs
<http://www.ala.org/ala/pio/campaign/schoollibrary/FINAL_toolkit.pdf>
and is looking for descriptions of how you are building stakeholder
support. The committee is looking for three types of anecdotes:

@ Your Library Campaign

Write a brief 3 to 5 sentence of how you are using the ALA @
your library^(TM) Campaign in your library. See examples on pages 6 and
7 of the current Toolkit for School Library Media Programs.

<>Reaching Out to Stakeholders

Look on pages 12-13 of the Toolkit for School Library Media
Programs for examples of the 2 to 3 sentence stakeholder centered
advocacy efforts. Stakeholder categories include Students, Faculty &
Administrators, Parents & Caregivers, and Community.

Voices of Experience

Extended examples of marketing and advocacy ideas are
located on pages 27-34 of the guide. Voices of Experience stories range
from 100 to 800 words.

Send your anecdote and any questions to

            atyourlibrary@gmail.com

<>By sending an example you are giving ALA/AASL permission to include
your story in the publication.

Thank you on behalf of the AASL Advocacy Special Committee.
