I am helping a collegue who is working with teachers about putting lexiles on books. We don't want to open that issue up as she has a plan to deal with it without putting the lexiles on the book iteself. What I was trying to find for her are examples of where the lexile level and the emotional level of the book are "out of whack". I know there have been examples in the posts on LM_NET but without reading every one of the archive posts on lexile/AR/Reading counts etc I cannot seem to find them. So I am asking for examples of lexile level being questionable in terms of the emotional level of the book. My school (knock on wood) doesn't do AR, RC or look heavily at lexiles so I don't have some good examples myself. I will post a hit. Deborah Stafford Gen. H.H.
