We live about an hour north of Syracuse and are also off today, our
second snow day. We were spared most of the 10 feet of snow that
occurred between us and Syracuse in Parish, Mexico, Redfield and Oswego.
We probably have only 3-4 feet on the ground. Schools are used to that
in our area and we have built into our schedule 6 snow days. Most years
we only use a couple and then are treated to "give-back" days around
Memorial Day and sometimes Easter or Spring vacation. Our area can
handle the snow and it's generally only the blowing and drifting that
will close districts.
Here's a link to our news aggregator site in the area:
<http://newzjunky.com/> if you want to see what's happening in the North
Country.
Cheers!
Carole
