This has been bugging me for several years. Currently when I leave a cell
blank and ask Excel to calculate an average, it counts it as zero and throws
off the average. The old Appleworks program (on Apple IIe) used to ignore
blank cells for averages.

1. Is there a setting somewhere in Excel to tell it to ignore blank cells in
averages?
2. Is there a code I can put in a cell so an average will ignore that cell
(without making an error?)

Please respond directly to me. I will post an answer when I get it. Thanks
