Hi! How fun to see a link to my local news station on LM_NET! I live in the city of Oswego and my children have lost their winter break. They will be in school all next week to make up for having all of last week off. My district is 20 miles sounth of Oswego and I only had 3 days off last week. I still have my winter break. I grew up in NYS and only remember one other snowfall like this; and that was when I was in 6th grade. It's pretty amazing. Been great fun recently -- not. I wanted to share some links. The first is to a site sponsored by a television station in upstate New York. If you cant' get your mind around 124" of snow take a look at these pictures from viewers. My favorites are one taken of a man on a roof with snow up to his shoulders and the one taken from inside a house that shows the snow up to the tops of the window. I think this might be interesting for about 24 hours but would get old really fast. I can't imagine what happens when it melts. Would be interesting to hear from librarians in that area. How long are you going to have to go to school to make up these days? http://www.9wsyr.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=8adbcb60-ee6d-4c36-b85a-49a90d13fb86 The other link is to a motivational movie called 212 the extra degree movie. Quite neat and I think there may be way to use this with staff and kids http://www.212movie.com/ Darlene Yasick Media Specialist Hopkins (MI) High School lib027yas@global.net -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
