I am a new elementary librarian after 11 years as a secondary reading teacher. I love my job as a librarian a thousand times more than when I was a classroom teacher. I have a question about preK...I have classes with preK for 15 minutes, and after a few weeks at the beginning of the school year, I discovered that I could get preK to sit still, listen, and not talk if I had a Play-a-Sound book as one of the books that I was going to read to them. Even though the Play-a-Sound books work like magic for me with preK and even with kinder (I will gladly spend $10 a week of my personal money on something that works), I was wondering if there were any more suggestions that work like "magic" with the really little ones? (I found they like pop-up books also, but their favorites are the Play-a-Sound.)
