Dear wizards, I work in a high school where we would like to implement a school-wide academic vocabulary development program. I am in charge of finding out a couple of things and thought about this great list. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if it's any interest I will post a HIT. Thanks in advance! Here are my questions: * Has any schools implemented a school-wide vocabulary development program/vocabulary strategies at the secondary level * What research have you based your program/strategies on? Does anybody know any article about what reseacrh says about vocabulary development at the secondary level? * Does anybody know of a list of words that students should know by grade level (9-12). I have found a couple of lists but their emphasis is more for either college or elementary school. * Does anyone know any assessment tools to evaluate student's process/academic vocabulary? Thanks again!!
