I am a SLM student looking for input from practicing librarians. Please take
a moment to read and respond to the following questions. Thank you in
advance for your continued support. I will summarize my findings and post a
hit.

1. Given that your collection data is available online, do you still keep a
shelf list i.e. hard copy print out of the collection? Why or why not?

2. What important information needs to be included on it?

3. Is your list up to date? Do you print new ones or just update it by hand
to reflect what is now in the system?

4. States have their own collection standards. For example, Texas says that
there should be 10 books per student on the shelves; Maryland says 20 books
per student. If two collections are of equal age, why would more books make
a better library program?

5. How many books does your library have?

6. How many books per student does your library have?

7. How many books circulate in an average week?

Please email your responses to the jofloyd@comcast.net
Again, thank you for your help.
