I had hoped to get this posted sooner, but we are in the thick of our Seuss events one week early with me going through the slide show created by Karen DeFrank and talking about Dr. Seuss's life. I spent several hours after school last week and at home trying to get our school website to take some of my MS Word handouts and correctly display them or to accept pictures...and was ready to pull my hair out to say the least. If you would like to see some of my handouts on what we are doing at McHenry Primary, and I can't guarantee their appearance...go to: www.floydboe.net On the right-hand side select the pull down menu to VISIT A SCHOOL WEBSITE Select MCHENRY PRIMARY from the pull-down list On the left-hand side select LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER Select SEUSS 2007 And then just select which handout you want to see. Some of my graphics are messed up on the page...but they are correct on the original document. I also had to take a graphic or two off of some handouts you will open due to problems downloading. Also, below is a poem I made up for the kids to encourage them to read Seuss books. No matter what shape... No matter what size... Step in the library... And give your spirit a rise! Read a Seuss book... Read one I say... Then read another...and another... An another all day. Read Seuss books... From morn until night. Go to bed late And get up all bright. Read them...and read them... And read them some more. And you will be happy As never before. --Tony L.
