Good morning, Everyone: As you can see, the debate about Outlook versus Lotus Notes is more or less even. I will follow up with a few of your suggestions and give it to my IT team. Many thanks for your input and have a great weekend! --Jan VanGorden I would suggest Thunderbird which is free from www.mozilla.com (the same makers of Firefox). Mozilla is much faster to release updates for any discovered problems/vulnerabilities. Their products are also much faster and reliable than microsoft products ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** According to my son, the computer science major, Outlook is a virus attractor that sometimes functions as an email program. ********************************************************************************************************** I have two school email accounts, this one and the "official" one, which only works on Outlook. Until that "official" one was started, I didn't have Outlook installed on my computer. Once we got that, I had to use it. Since then I've had quite a bit of trouble with the machine freezing, usually while using Outlook or right after. ********************************************************************************************************** You might ask the Computer Science department at UMR csdept@umr.edu what they would suggest. ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* Gosh... I know this isn't very technical but... Yucky! Yucky! Yucky! As a user I don't really like it. I was a user with Lotus Notes and STILL miss it. I use and manage Outlook. It is very flakey. I would switch back in a minute! I know that isn't much info but I hope this helps! ********************************************************************************************************** We've been using Microsoft Outlook, for about 3-5 years. It's the only one I've worked with but collectively we all like it here. ********************************************************************************************************** Hi, Have you considered an open source? Mozilla Thunderbird could be an answer. http://lifehacker.com/software/open-source/geek-to-live-top-10-open-source-windows-apps-208909.php ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* I would suggest Thunderbird which is free from www.mozilla.com (the same makers of Firefox).
