[LM_NET] Erring on the side of let's just see what happens!

That was more descriptive of my philosophy in my fifteen years as a junior
high librarian in a fairly conservative neighborhood. If I knew a book met
the standards for our district, but had a "word" or two or some other
potential "problem," I went ahead with purchase if I thought the kids would
like it. Yes I had challenges. But they were, without fail, regarding
materials I had NOT thought problematical. They came right out of left field
to smack me upside the head. One challenge was to a Far Side cartoon book,
and another was to a live performance by a storyteller. There were others,
but I do not think any of the questions I got were ever from books that I
thought might elicit concern. You never know what will inspire a challenge
anyway, so your thinking should instead just be about the book and its
