I have purchased some sets of books that I think are valuable. They are
mainly for elementary students. Our social worker uses them quite
often. The series are called, The Conflict Resolution Library and some
of the titles are Dealing with Anger, Dealing with Bullying, Dealing
with Fighting, Dealing with Insults, and Dealing with Weapons, Dealing
with Arguments, Dealing with Lying, Dealing with Someone Who Won't
Listen, Dealing with Stealing, and Dealing with Teasing. These titles
are available fro PowerKids Press.

Another series is Life skills: Building Self-Confidence, Improving Work
Habits, Living on Your Own, Setting Career Goals. They are available
from Capstone High/Low Books at Capstone Press.

Another series is The violence prevention library. This is also from
PowerKids Press. Available from Rosen Publishing Group.

The last series is The Let's Talk Library. Also available from Rosen
Press.

Kim,

A while back I posted a hit for books on self-discipline, which to me is
somewhat different than self-control, but maybe you will find something
you can use.

"self-discipline" for my K-5 school's character education program.

Below are the responses I received followed by the list of books I
compiled.

be very helpful, as well as Sharron McElmeel's excellent book, Character
Education: A Book Guide for Teachers, Librarians, and Parents.
