My first computer was a Mac Classic. It had the CPU and monitor in one small unit. It was marketed as a "portable" computer. You could buy a backpack sort of thing for it so you could tote it around. It was pretty heavy to carry strapped to your back if I recall. I think it had a whole 4K of RAM. I used it in my classroom at school after I moved on to bigger and better things at home and still didn't have a computer in my classroom. My high school students affectionately referred to it as NASA! I used to tell them it was the first laptop. Still worked the last time I plugged it in about 3 years ago.
