Whew! This is a trip down memory lane! My first computer was a Commodore 128 (twice the capacity of the Commodore 64!!!), bought in 1986 when I was a prison Librarian in Southeastern Michigan. Oddly enough, the strongest recommendations for that particular computer were from an inmate clerk I had at the time!! There was no hard drive, the floppy drive was a separate peripheral, and everything was on 7 ¼ disks: programs & saved files. The monitor was a Black & white TV. I think my word processing program was "Jane". At Christmas our children (all 20-somethings) were reminiscing about the programs & games they used on the old computer. My 24-year-old's comment was mind-bending: "You know, Mom, I've never lived in a house where we didn't have a computer!" (almost...he was 3 years old) And we talk about technology natives (them) and immigrants (us!). Have a great Monday, everyone!
