Description:
You will perform the following functions in this key role:

    * Provide for the information needs of assigned groups and the
support
of compound teams with both database searching, alerting services and
training in the optimal use of the Intelligencenter resources.
    * Provide reference and research services involving clinical,
business
and government document databases, literature and all other appropriate
resources to support the scientific, regulatory and business needs to
assigned groups and in support of compound teams.
    * Provide or arrange training for functional areas and individuals
in
the use of the Intelligencenter and other library online resources or
software, especially those services important to the assigned groups.
    * Contribute in the evaluation, choice and acquisition of databases,
websites, journals, books, documents, government documents, contracts
and
technology and their vendors.
    * Contribute in the development desktop virtual library, the
Intelligencenter, for access by home office employees.
    * Responsible in providing alerting services (NewsEdge, news,
e-tables
of contents and topic alerts) to assigned groups and in support of
compound
teams.
    * Communicate with key contacts in each assigned group and assigned
compound team to be aware of changes in needs and the need to respond.
    * Understand medical/therapeutic impact of products.
    * Understand medicine, the healthcare environment, the
pharmaceutical
industry and the regulatory environment.
    * Should be an expert DIALOG, Ovid and Internet searching skills and
the
ability to conduct an expert reference interview and translate the
clients
question to query the databases accurately and comprehensively.

You must possess the following requirements and experience to succeed in
this position:

    * Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program.
    * A minimum of 3 years experience in a pharmaceutical, university
medical or corporate library.
    * Specialization in medical or scientific librarianship and college
level biology or chemistry courses is desired.
    * Certified at minimum at the Regular level by the Medical Library
Association's Academy of Health Information Professionals.
    * Ability to drive or fly to various meetings/client sites; limited
overnight. Some international travel may be required.
