Hi, everyone, I just saw this today and wanted to post it, in case, some of you are very envious of required Library staffing level. Dr. Bucher of ODU was probably misquoted when she says: "... Bucher adds that the state requires full-time certified media specialists in all K–12 schools." Actually the VA Stds. of Quality require a full-time librarian if enrollment is over 300. If the enrollment drops by even a few students, it is up to the discretion of the principal. This is precisely the point that I and many others spoke about at State Hearings this fall. This was part of an announcement of an online program to accredit school librarians for underserved regions.
