Friends I teach an independent study reading class for Junior and Seniors. Right now, it's titled "Advanced Reading." I don't like the title, as I feel it implies students are reading classics and doing almost AP-type work. That's not the case - students are allowed to read just about whatever they want, as long as it's not a book they've read before or it isn't required reading / on a reading list for another class. (Class is an elective for 1/2 credit a semester - they can take 2 semesters.) Do you have any suggestions for a new name? Contemporary won't work as Junior and Seniors have an English elective entitled "Contemporary Novel Studies". TIA "VAN" ------------ Diane K.
