I have multiple requests for a hit on my posting for interactive web sites a 7th grade teacher could use. Thanks to all who responded! Not sure if this is what you need/want ... but worth a look: http://www.eternalegypt.org/EternalEgyptWebsiteWeb/HomeServlet In Ontario Canada we do Early civilizations in Grade 5. Have a look at the links on my web site. http://edselect.com/grade52.htm and http://edselect.com/egypt.htm I think they would be suitable for your group as well. Try: www.virtual-egypt.com There are many different things there including games and virtual tours. Here's what we have on our page: Some are interactive, some not: http://www.homercenter.org/hcelem/ancient_egypt.htm I am an assistant for a seventh grade class, and the teacher used this web site. There is a section on pyramids. www.ancientegypt.co.uk/menu.html It is from the British Museum. This web site gives several sites. It is from Eduscapes. http://www.42explore2.com/egypt.htm Pyramids and Temples Translate Website w/Dictionary http://www.discoveringegypt. ... r-temp.htm This interactive site creates a computer-generated reconstruction of Egyptian pyramids and temples. View pyramid floor plans, paintings, drawings, and photos This is copied from an LM-Net post from a couple of years ago. My daughter is an archaeology student with strong interests in Egyptology. I remember she had fun with these! Hope they still work (didn't recheck them). The Nova site at PBS.org has a virtual pyramid in This Old Pyramid to walk = through. My students loved this! http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/pyramid/ This one has some ads, but can also yield some useful information: http://www.guardians.net/egypt/egol1.htm Ancient Egypt Web Sites Egyptian Hieroglyphs http://www.greatscott.com/hiero/index.html The British Museum’s Ancient Egypt Web Site http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/ Egyptomania http://www.clevelandart.org/kids/egypt/ Egypt: Daily Life (cosmetics) http://www2.sptimes.com/Egypt/EgyptCredit.4.2.html Egyptian Mythology http://www.pantheon.org/areas/mythology/africa/egyptian/articles.html The Ancient Egypt Site http://www.ancient-egypt.org/index.html Women in Ancient Egypt (cosmetics) http://www.womenintheancientworld.com/women's%20clothing.htm Odyssey Egypt http://carlos.emory.edu/ODYSSEY/EGYPT/homepg.html Nova Online: Pyramids: The Inside Story http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/pyramid/textindex.html The Unmasking of King Tut’s Face http://www.horus.ics.org.eg/en/History/History01.aspx Pharaonic History http://www.horus.ics.org.eg/en/History/PharaonicHistory.aspx Encyclopedia Smithsonian http://www.si.edu/resource/faq/nmnh/mummies.htm Mummies of Ancient Egypt http://www.si.umich.edu/chico/mummy/ Exploring Ancient World Cultures – Ancient Egypt http://eawc.evansville.edu/egpage.htm If you haven't already received this.... http://www.thebanmappingproject.com <http://www.thebanmappingproject.com/> Make your own cartouche: http://www.harcourtschool.com/activity/cartouche/cartouche.html Boston Museum of Fine Arts interactive website: http://www.mfa.org/egypt/explore_ancient_egypt/ Pictorial tour of Egypt http://www.egyptinteractive.com/EgyptTour/ETourMain.htm From the British Museum http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/menu.html National Geographic http://www.nationalgeographic.com/pyramids/ David Bilmes, LMS Schaghticoke Middle School New Milford, CT bilmesd@new-milford.k12.ct.us dudu4tigers@snet.net www.new-milford.k12.ct.us/SMS/LMC “When I read about the way in which library funds are being cut and cut, I can only think that American society has found one more way to destroy itself."
