Hello everyone. After a tense several weeks of waiting, our principal finally got
her oldest son's test results confirmed. Her second grader has Type 1 diabetes.
Now, she's a very composed and extremely intelligent woman, but this IS her
firstborn and I know every mom out there understands what she's going through much
better than I as a man can.
I've always been her go to person for information about everything to do with the
school and stuff, and I know she's got tons of questions, so as a gesture that
she's not alone in this and neither is her son, I'd like any suggestions from y'all
for resources that will help her and the child with this diagnoses. Also, if any of
you have young diabetic children, what are some sites or books you recommend for
the boy so he can connect with children in his same situation.
I'd like to put together a list for her and make a page out of it so she and her
son can sit at the computer together and form a plan . . . she's real big on that
"let's form a plan." I just want to help because she's been good to me.
So, if you have anything, could you please send the suggestions to me?
