This new role for library media specialists has everything to do with NCLB. Thank 
goodness your principal recognizes you as key in the reading success of students at 
your school. Some principals do not recognize this connection and are therefore 
eliminating their library media specialists and replacing them with literacy 
coaches or other reading support staff.

the same role as the reading specialist. I always thought we were
information specialists, and our main goal is to help students find
information they need. But principals expect us to know the intricancies of

have enven one reading course. Can someone please explain. Are the
principals confused about our roles, or am I the one that's confused.
