Perhaps an incentive would help. Depending on the age of the students, a sticker that says, "I returned my books!" (I've seen them for sale at ala.org) can do the trick. You could have students who cannot check out any books because of forgotten books sit quietly at a table while everyone else looks for their books. It might be boring enough that they remember their books. Book talks on books of interest to the forgetful students might motivate them too. I have a few students who don't WANT to check books out. It's disheartening to hear someone say, "Oh, my books are at home. But that's ok. I don't want to check anything out anyway." -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
