Hi, All,

I planned to return from the ALA conference and some DC sighseeing ready to dig
into my carefully saved e-mail and the Committee Volunteer database to finalize
appointments by Friday and, of course, technology fails again.

My computer crashed in the Baltimore airport on the way back and four days of
trying to deal with it is sending me to Albany (3 hour drive each way) today to try
to get a fast repair. But it may not happen in time.

I DO have the committee volunteer database (22 pages printed will go with me for
the drive--I am not driving ) and will work from that and memory (limits to that).
But...if you sent me an individual e-mail, do consider sending another today or
tomorrow. I will WELCOME them.

With our new committee restructuring, there are fewer committees but will be more
task forces and special committees needing good members. So if you don't get
appointed this year to a committee, President-Elect Ann Martin is going to be very
happy when she sees the pool of potential members for next year and I will be using
the database extensively to appoint task force and special committee members in the
very near future.

If you have not yet volunteered to get involved with AASL work, go to the AASL page
<www.ala.org/aasl> and click on the committee link on the right. There is a new
online form that is makes volunteering much easier.

All the best, Sara
