I have enjoyed reading the incentive ideas. Last year it seemed that I had more overdues than in past years for some reason despite what I thought was myself and assistant being more "vigilant" with overdue notices, reminders, etc. I would be interested in trying some of the incentive ideas this year. My question for those of you currently using these ideas though is how do you handle it when there is a class with one or two kids who have had books overdue for months that they either can't or won't find or pay for , therefore making it impossible for their class to ever totally have all books returned/nothing overdue? Do you just make exceptions and not count them against the class total or how do you handle those situations?
