Quite a few people have written to tell me we should be storing the tapes off-site. This is not an option as we are searching for storage for the daily backup tapes to our LAN server. Others have recommended just purchasing a firesafe box at my local discount store. We have looked into that option, however, those are not approved for storage of magnetic tapes and have a much lower fire/heat tolerance than is necessary. Computer files are much more easily corrupted by heat than are paper files. (There was a small fire in the server room several years ago.) So far, the least expensive fireproof media storage safe/cabinet I have found is $625. -- Cheryl Youse, MLS Media Specialist Colquitt County High School cyouse@gmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
