I had to be out of town due to my mother's ill health, so I was in HP withdrawals
until Sunday night and as a result haven't finished yet. My husband was my
designated pinch hitter to pick up the books for the library and home. The library
reserved 5 and we reserved 3 including 1 special edition as well as the cd's.
When he was standing in line to check out, a lady came in, looked at his box of
books and said, "Do you have any of those left? I want to buy one." The sales clerk
said, "No, we are already sold out." She gave my husband a dirty look. This was at
3:00 on Saturday afternoon, the day of release. She didn't think that she needed to
pre-reserve the book!
One of my students wasn't able to purchase the book and desperately wanted to read
it. My husband took one of the library's copies to his shop for her. She came in
and said, "Are you Johnny? Do you have THE BOOK?"
I have even managed to hook my older sister on this series and she's desperate to
start book 1, so I am meeting her tonight to hand off the cd's for books 1-6.
