Perma-bound has a similar service called manage my collection. You have to upload an export of your catalogue records, then when you are browsing books a circle appears next to each title and is filled in if it's already in your collection. They also use a half-filled circle for 'something similar' in your collection (which might be a different edition of the same title, or one with a similar title.) You do have to upload regularly, but if you buy from them and have them process the books they will automatically add whatever you've purchased from them to your manage my collection files. You upload your MARC records to them (you can also do a collection analysis with the same upload, called TitleWise) and then check a box when you are looking for books and ti will compare your order with what your catalog records show. Just be sure to keep it current by doing a new upload of your MARC records after you have done a 'big weed'. **************************** Barb Engvall =^..^= Teacher-Librarian John Campbell Elem Selah, WA http://www.selah.k12.wa.us/JC/jc.cfm<http://www.selah.k12.wa.us/JC/jc.cfm> bengvall@mac.com<mailto:bengvall@mac.com> On Jul 23, 2007, at 6:23 AM, sarah wrote: > ...my only question remains: what kind of system do you use for > tracking > your orders?
