[LM_NET] TAR: grade 3-5 school - library ideas needed

Hello,

I am interviewing at a school with a diverse cultural background and it is a
big school (800) for grades 3-5 only. Having so many classes within a grade
gives me different opportunities than K-5 - I'll have more time to dedicate
to those grades and classes. Are there any booklists out there with book
suggestions that appeal to populations such as mine? (some immigrants, some
EsL, many races and backgrounds including middle class).  Also, I have
Kidspiration somewhere that I for making story maps and similar activities
for primary grades. Have you used it and engaged students in these grades
with that program? I like to integrate technology when I can --  but I am
rusty and need ideas. How about reading programs? What has worked for you?

All ideas welcome for these grades! Sometimes grade 5 can be difficult to
keep engaged I have found.
