I have been asked to find external speakers for each classroom - one set to go on each teacher's computer: they currently have no sound output (except headphones). We were told by ITS that 24 watt speakers were the minimum they would recommend, and our purchasing department said the cheapest they could find were $109. each. That sounds a little excessive to me. What do you think? Would 10 or 12 watt speakers work in a classroom, or do we need the higher wattage?
