Oh wise ones, I am hoping you might know the answer to a copyright issue that is possibly off-topic in that I'm not sure it's a library issue. Using a library camera and tape, I recorded our student band concert for our band teacher to show to her students. As I understand it, that copy is archival for school purposes and is allowed under copyright. The question is, since we bought performance rights to the music and none of the students are professional musicians, can I burn them copies of the DVD? I would have to charge $1 for supplies (DVD and jewel case-Got a screaming deal on the DVD's at Staples) but would not otherwise be making any profit on the proposition.
