Good news! I tried my scanner again after about 30 minutes, and it was
working again, and continued to work all afternoon! Thanks to those of you
who offered advice. I've had some requests for a hit, so here it is.

In the past I have had to reprogram mine. I had to use the barcodes that
sent it back to the manufactures settings and then it would work again. If
you need those barcodes they are under the www.fsc.follett.com website.

*********************************

I always unplugged mine and replugged and then it worked again.

*********************

I have spoken to the tech person at Opticon scanners and have gotten a lot
of help from him. Try that before you junk it.

*********************

Sorry my answer will be incomplete because I am not in front of my scanner
right now, but there is a way to reboot the scanner. I takes three keys on
the scanner I think they are F1, Shift and...but I learned from one of the
Follett support system technicians, perhaps they can help you. I don't
remember if mine was totally dead or just not scanning when I asked for
Follett's help.

**********************************

We have the same problem. I popped the silver cap off

of the scanner tip and cleaned the inside, and got

another 3000 scans, and now it has died again. If you

have any other suggestions please post. I did buy

replacement rechargeable batteries as well, but it has

power, so that isn't the problem. It just won't scan.

*******************

I had problems during my inventory with my Follett scanner as well. All I
did was call technical support at 1800-722-7424 and they were able to fix it
for me, while walking me through the steps of what to do. It worked fine and
I was able to finish my inventory.

*******************

Try new batteries. And they don't have to be those rechargeable ones either.
Mine quit too and we just put in 3 AA and were good to go.

******************************

If you push all three white buttons on the PHD dolphin at the same time,

it's a reboot - you can try that-
