LM_NET Archive



That's what I call Wikipedia in my school.  Reasons for NOT ever trusting it are so 
abundant as to be overwhelming.  A recent example was when a student was recently 
researching the Ku Klux Klan.  Wacky-pedia had the following entry:
  Ku Klux Klan, KKK (Kool Kids Klub).  Granted, the web page had changed by the 
next day, but the damage was done.  Loose cannon.  And completely unnecessary, 
considering all the reputable sources of information there are out there.   As we 
teach students to be intelligent users of reliable information, Wikipedia stands as 
an example what to avoid, so I guess it serves a purpose after all.
