[LM_NET] Dairy Queen: A Novel

Hello,
I am the librarian ina 6-8 middle school and recently read Dairyy Queen
by Catherine Murdock.  I think the book is great, my only hesitation
in purchasing it for the school is that it contains the work "dyke."  
This word is used
several times in the book.  If you have read the book, I would like to 
know if you
think it is appropriate for middle school.  I was thinking about reading 
it with my
7th/8th gread book club and then making it available for general 
circulation.   Any
opinions would be greatly appreciated.
