All of this discussion about missing / lost / misplaced library books during inventory, reminded me of the "Places to Look for Lost Library Books" mini-poster that my library assistant (Miranda Hawkins---thank you, Miranda!) created one year for our students. The poster is about 8" x 10" (regular printing paper will do...then cut it down if you want to insert it into a mylar or plastic frame to sit on the circulation desk). We printed them in different colors (bright lime green, yellow, pink, etc.) and put them in different areas of the library to remind students where to hunt for those missing books that they couldn't find. If you'd like to download a copy of the template (and make adjustments that meet the specific needs of your students---when you read some of the locations, you'll understand), feel free to do so. Just go to my Texas School Librarians' wiki at: http://txschoollibrarians.wikispaces.com/Templates Feel free to browse, if you'd like. This is a new wiki site that I created for Texas School librarians to share ideas, resources, materials, booklists, etc. Some of the things may be more Texas-related, but several resources are ideas or resources from LM_NETers like yourself! (Many more things to follow soon----this site is only 2 weeks old!) ~Shonda -- Shonda Brisco, MLIS Library Media / Technology Specialist Digital Bookends wiki / blog: http://digitalbookends.pbwiki.com http://shonda.edublogs.org/ sbrisco@gmail.com Resources for Texas School Librarians: http://txschoollibrarians.ning.com/ http://txschoollibrarians.wikispaces.com/ "Digital Resources" columnist School Library Journal -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
