On the subject of 5th grade read-aloud time, I would like to know when and
how much read-aloud you guys are able to do with the older students using
the larger fiction books. Do you continue week to week or do you just read a
portion to peak their interest? I am at a Prk-5th and I do lots of reading
time with the PreK-2nd but with the older ones I would like to read
something from the novels. Any suggestions.

Subject: TARGET: 5th grade read-aloud suggestions

building. With 7th graders, for example, she read _Crash_ and found that
students could identify with the struggles to decide friendships,
allegiances, and
Any suggestions?
Would anyone recommend _Surviving Brick Johnson_ for this? Appropriate
grade level?
