Dear Owen, I believe the book of which you are speaking is My Antonia, by Willa Cather. Chapter 8 contains a scene similar to the one about which you wrote. You can read it here: http://classiclit.about.com/library/bl-etexts/wcather/bl-wcather-ant-1-8.htm Amy McCracken Media Parapro & FSU MLS Candidate 2009 Roswell, GA Owen McDermott <owen96@COMCAST.NET> wrote: As I have seen so many unknown books brought into the light, I thought I would try this one. There is a scene of a merry wedding party traveling home after becoming a little too drunk. They are in a sleigh in winter drawn by horses. They are chased by wolves and I believe all but the storyteller perish when the wolves overtake them. I thought at first it might be Black Beauty and it was told from the Beauty's perspective, but I don't think this is correct. Dickens? Wuthering Heights? I am asking because I am currently reading a Joan Aiken (The Wolves of Willoughby Chase) and it has the same feel. I wonder which author writes so similarly to Aiken or whom Aiken writes so similarly to. Thanks in advance, I know one of you will know it, Owen McDermott Milton Junior/Senior High School Milton, VT -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
