I am looking for either a book, short story or fable about the consequences of procrastination and avoidance. A teacher has asked me to recommend a title to have her student read and discuss with her. The student is a senior in high school, new to the school district last year and is an average reader. She is having a lot of trouble following through with assignments and the teacher is looking for some kind of story to promote discussion of the issue. She said it could even be a children's book and preferably something not too long, since she doesn't know how many more weeks she will have this student. So I am hoping that someone out there has an "ah ha" moment and remembers a young adult title, short story, or children's book that would do the trick? As always, thank you for your help!
