Many people responded to my question about teaching young children tech lessons. I received many positive responses about fun-easy projects to do with the students using Word. But I was told to not just do a Word/computer lesson in isolation. It is the best to work with a classroom teacher and integrate Microsoft Word or KidPix into the classroom unit projects. I am integrating a computer project in with a library lesson. The students final project was to use word and insert clipart as well as their own photos. They are loving it and learning by doing/trying... A good suggestion was to have the students work with partners. This is a good idea as I have become exhausted as the whole class needs help every two seconds.... (and the computer lab is so hot from the heat of the computers!) I definitely am not going to be bringing the young library classes back into the lab anytime soon. :) Julie Knott unit 7 schools tolono Illinois Julie Gott Unity East Elementary School Librarian Philo, Illinois JuLknott@iLLinoisaLumni.org --------------------------------- Have a burning question?
