I've poked around in the archives and I'm not seeing what I'm looking for. I've also tried searching the Net, but haven't hit upon the correct search terms yet. What we would like is a discussion board type tool that a classroom teacher could set up and be the moderator of similar to the e-mail accounts that teachers can set up and monitor using gaggle.net. (Free!) The teacher would ideally have the ability to set-up a discussion group for each class. The students would have a log in, no e-mail account necessary, they could view the various topics being discussed, read and post responses; preferably before their message or response was posted it would go through a screening by the teacher, who would then post it or delete it. An option to return it to the student to revise would be wonderful, but we won't hold our breath for this. We like the discussion board format that allows the readers to see the original post and then any of the responses. With a new post getting a new heading and then subsequent responses falling under that initial post, we believe the students will be able to better track the topics; we are attempting to give some opportunity for interaction to their weekly health articles. We've looked at the wiki and blogs, but really want the responses to stay with the original message; which is why we are looking at the discussion board format. This will be our first foray into this type of tool and stretching of a techie-wannabe teacher. Jean R.
