A fifth grade teacher came to me today with a request. I told her I would come to this group for help. Here is: She is doing the book "Esperanza Rising" with her class. She would like to find another historical fiction book set around the same time (around 1920's) and with the Mexican connection for her boys to read. The boys are enjoying this book, but she feels they would enjoy and get more out of one with a dominate male character. I will take any ideas. Thanks in advance. -- Diane Mentzer - NBCT (Library Media Specialist / Tech Coordinator / Webmaster) Bester Elementary School Hagerstown, MD http://www.wcboe.k12.md.us mentzdia@wcboe.k12.md.us dmentzerLMS@comcast.net To learn to read is basic, To LOVE to read is the plus! ************************************************************** "Show me a computer expert that gives a damn, and I'll show you a librarian."
