Hi Everyone,
I am looking for examples of "model" school library spaces (high school and
middle school only) to be featured in the 2nd edition of Teen Spaces (ALA
Editions). These may be new constructions, remodels, or even spaces that
have been "spruced up." I'm looking for libraries of all sizes and budgets
as well as libraries located in the U.S. and in other countries.

Model sites should display at least two of the following characteristics:

1. Planned and designed with assistance and input from students/teenagers
2. Forward-thinking decorative and design elements (color,
shelving/displays, lighting, flooring, non-traditional furnishings, etc.)
3. Creative attention to layout, floor plan, and details related to service
areas, technology, individual/group study areas, lounging/casual reading
areas, stacks, etc.
4. Interesting and non-traditional treatment of collections and technology

If you think your school library has a model library (or you know of someone
who has a model school library facility) and are interested in being
considered please contact me. Please direct all questions to me at
bolan_kimberly@yahoo.com. Submission forms and additional instructions are
available on my blog at indielibrarian.blogspot.com.

Thanks in advance,
