Dear LM_NET Colleagues,
This is to tell you about an excellent new book for teens by one of my
favorite teachers here at Chico High, C.G. (Carrie) Watson. It is her
forst book, and will be published in a few days. It is called Quad, and
takes place on a high school campus. Quad deals with very current issues
that spring forth when the school goes into lockdown when a shooter
comes on campus.
I don't want to say too much more, except that Carrie is a very
sensitive and caring teacher, and her writing reflects her values and
concerns for teens. She has appeared for readings at two of our
after-school booktalks by students and faculty, and she was very
well-received.
