Thank-you to everyone who sent me information about grammar websites. We had our meeting last Wednesday. This is a topic that will continue to be discussed next year along with the writing component. Each department was to identify areas they would like to improve upon and do research about. I was assigned to the English committee. I am very much interested in what will develop next year as I think the writing component does blend in with research skills. Basic idea I left the meeting with was that grammar is more effectively taught when part of the writing process rather than as a separate component. The program "Six Traits +1 of Writing" was shared and discussed. One of the group members had requested various resource materials from our AEA center and shared those. I'm thinking there are possibilities here for incorporating the "Six Traits + 1 of Writing" and research skills into inservice meetings next year. I'm would be interested in any thoughts that the members of the listserv might have about this. *Websites shared:* Try NCTE's website www.ncte.org or their readwritethink.org website.
