Good morning all: I have a question that I thought would be "easy" to find, but so far have not had much luck so I decided to throw it out here. I will be having my very first Battle of the Books this Friday and had thought of giving a short introduction to the parents about how this contest came to be. I know that it was a radio program out of Chicago from the 30's or 40's (depending on which website you look at), but beyond that the details start to get murky. Does anyone have any more specific information that I can share with them? I have looked at the battleofthebooks.org site and several others, but haven't been able to find what I need. Thanks for any help that you may be able to give me!
