I have an assistant and two volunteers (who each do one morning a week). My
handheld stopped working, so, I printed out lists of each of the Material
types ( REF,000's, FIC, etc.) and, since it comes out in Excel, added a
column for a check mark. They take the lists to the shelves, check the list
against the books on the shelf. Inthe extra column they note if it is
missing. Then we check the circulation to see if it is checked out. This
way at the end of the year, any that are still out I will mark as lost. I
use Winnebago Spectrum. Hope this helps.

It took them less than two weeks to do my collection of 15,000 items.
